How do I find a tradesperson?▼
Open the map at speedi.co.uk/map. You'll see available tradespeople near you shown as coloured pins — green means available now, amber means available soon. Tap a pin to see their details, then tap Message to send a request describing what you need.
Is Speedi free for customers?▼
Yes. Browsing the map, sending messages, and posting quote requests is completely free for customers. You never pay Speedi anything — you only pay the tradesperson directly for the work they do.
When does the tradesperson get my contact details?▼
Your phone number and email are hidden until a tradesperson accepts your request. They spend one credit to accept, at which point your details are revealed so they can contact you directly. This protects your privacy and ensures only genuinely interested tradespeople see your information.
What's a quote broadcast?▼
Instead of messaging one tradesperson at a time, you can broadcast a job description to multiple tradespeople in your area who offer the relevant trade. Up to 3 tradespeople can accept and connect with you. It's the fastest way to get quotes.
Can I see reviews of tradespeople?▼
Yes. Tradespeople who have been reviewed show a star rating on their map pin and profile. You can see individual reviews with comments on their full profile page.
Does Speedi take commission on the job?▼
No. Speedi never takes a cut of the work. You agree pricing directly with the tradesperson. Our only revenue is from credits purchased by tradespeople.
What if I'm not happy with the work?▼
Speedi connects you with tradespeople but is not responsible for the quality of work. Any issues should be raised directly with the tradesperson. You can leave an honest review of your experience which helps other customers make informed decisions.
How does location work?▼
When you open the map, your browser asks for location permission. This is used to show tradespeople near you and calculate distances. Your location is not stored permanently and is only used during your session.

For Tradespeople
How do I get listed on Speedi?▼
Register at speedi.co.uk/register and select Tradesperson. Complete your business profile, select the trades you offer, then set your availability to appear on the map.
How much does it cost?▼
There are no monthly fees, no subscriptions, and no commission. You only pay for credits which you use to accept customer requests. Credits come in packs: 10 for £10, 25 for £45, or 50 for £80. Each credit connects you with one customer.
What happens when I accept a request?▼
When you accept a customer's message or quote request, one credit is deducted from your balance. The customer's phone number and email are instantly revealed so you can contact them directly to arrange the work.
Can I decline requests for free?▼
Yes, declining always costs nothing. When you decline, you're asked to select a reason (wrong trade, too far, fully booked, etc.) — this helps us improve the matching system so you get better requests in future.
Do credits expire?▼
No. Credits never expire. Buy them when you need them and use them at your own pace.
Can I get a refund on credits?▼
Credits are non-refundable once purchased. If you believe a credit was spent due to a technical error, contact us at hello@speedi.co.uk and we'll investigate.
How does trade matching work?▼
You select the specific trades you offer from our taxonomy (e.g. Plumber, Boiler Repair, Bathroom Fitting). When a customer searches for a trade, you'll only appear if you've listed a matching trade or one in the same category. A roofer won't receive plumbing requests.
What are the 'Available for today' tags?▼
When you go online, you can choose which specific trades you're available for today. For example, a plumber who also does bathroom fitting might only want boiler jobs today. Only the trades you've tagged as active will receive requests.
How do I get reviews?▼
On your dashboard you'll find a QR code and a review link. Show the QR code to your customer after the job, or tap 'Request a review via SMS' on any accepted connection to send them a text with your review link. One review per job connection.
What is Speedi Approved?▼
Speedi Approved is our verification programme for tradespeople who have had their credentials, insurance, and qualifications checked. Approved tradespeople get a gold crown badge on their map pin and profile, giving customers extra confidence. The programme is launching soon.
How does the availability timer work?▼
When you set yourself as Available, you appear on the map for 1 hour. The timer counts down and you automatically go offline when it expires. You can refresh your status at any time. The system also steps through Busy → Soon → Available if you start from Busy.
Can I offer multiple trades?▼
Yes. In your Business Profile, you can select as many trades as you're qualified for from our grouped taxonomy. Customers searching for any of your listed trades will find you.
Do I need insurance?▼
Speedi strongly recommends all tradespeople hold appropriate insurance (e.g. Public Liability). You are responsible for ensuring you meet all legal and regulatory requirements for the work you carry out. Upload your credentials on the dashboard to build trust with customers.
How does the Speedi referral scheme work?▼
Every tradesperson on Speedi has a unique referral code on their Pro dashboard. Share your code with another tradesperson — when they sign up using your code and purchase credits, you earn 10% of every credit pack they buy for the next 6 months. Credits accumulate and are transferred to your account in whole credit amounts.
When do I receive my referral credits?▼
Referral credits accumulate as your referred tradesperson makes purchases. They transfer to your account automatically once they reach a whole number — for example, if they buy a 10-credit pack you earn 1 credit instantly. Fractional amounts carry over and combine with future purchases.
Is there a limit to how many tradespeople I can refer?▼
No limit. You can refer as many tradespeople as you like and earn from all of them simultaneously.
How long does the referral scheme last?▼
This is a limited time offer. Once a referral is made, you earn credits on that person's purchases for 6 months from their signup date. Speedi reserves the right to modify or withdraw the scheme with notice.
Do referral credits expire?▼
Once credited to your account, referral credits do not expire and can be used like any other Speedi credits.
