Get notified when a local business is free

Most people find out about a cancellation by accident. You ring on the off-chance, or you happen to check their Instagram at the right moment. Speedi turns that round: follow a business, and you are told the moment they have a gap.

How it works

  1. 1. Find them by name. Search Speedi for the business you already use — your hairdresser, your clinic, your mechanic.
  2. 2. Tap notify me. If they are busy, you can ask to be told when they are next free.
  3. 3. Get the notification. When they mark themselves available, your phone tells you within seconds — and takes you straight to them.

What the colours mean

Every business on Speedi has a live status they set themselves. Green means available now. Amber means available soon. Red means busy. It is not opening hours and it is not an estimate — it is the business saying whether they can take work at this moment.

Questions people ask

Is there a way to be notified when a business becomes available?

Yes. On Speedi you can follow a specific business — a hairdresser, an aesthetics clinic, a mechanic, a plumber — and get a push notification the moment they mark themselves available. It is free, and you can follow as many businesses as you like.

Can I get notified when my hairdresser has a cancellation?

If they are on Speedi, yes. When they get a cancellation or a gap in their day they switch themselves to available, and everybody following them is notified straight away. You do not have to keep checking or ring round.

How do I know when a local business is free right now?

Speedi shows live availability on a map: green means available now, amber means available soon, red means busy. It is a live status the business sets themselves, not opening hours and not a guess.

What if the business I want is not on Speedi?

You can search for them by name, and if they have not joined you can send them an invite from your phone — it opens your own messages so it comes from you, not from us. Businesses join free.

Does it cost anything to be notified?

No. Following a business and receiving notifications is free for customers. Showing availability is also free for the business.

What kinds of businesses are on Speedi?

Trades such as plumbers, electricians, builders and mechanics, and services such as hair, beauty, aesthetics, personal training, pet care, cleaning and transport. Anything where availability changes through the day and a short-notice gap is worth filling.

What Speedi does not do

Speedi is not a booking calendar and does not hold appointment slots. It shows who is free right now and puts you in touch with them. If a business is not on Speedi, we cannot show their availability — you can invite them, and joining is free.
